L’ Ecole française de Harare a reçu ce mercredi 15 mars la visite de Madame Lourdes Chamorro, Cheffe de la Section Politique, Presse et Relations Publiques de la Délégation de l’ Union Européenne a Harare. Le but de cette visite était de présenter a nos Lycéens et élèves de 3èmes les institutions européennes et leur fonctionnement ainsi que les activités de l’ UE au Zimbabwe y compris le programme Erasmus Plus.
Intervenant quelques jours après la Fete de l’ Europe du 9 mai et a moins d’ un mois des élections du Parlement européen, le « timing » de la présentation était bien calculé. L’ étude de l’ UE figure largement au programme d’ histoire/géographie de nos élèves de 3èmes et de Terminales ainsi que de ceux de 1ères en spécialité HGGSP et qui ont eu ainsi la possibilité d’ échanger avec une diplomate de haut rang de l’ institution. Mme Chamorro a également fait part de son expérience personnelle et de son enthousiasme pour ce choix de carrière. L’ avenir nous dira si la journée du 15 mars aura suscité l’ une ou l’ autre vocation parmi nos étudiants.
The French School of Harare received this Wednesday, March 15, a visit from Mrs. Lourdes Chamorro, Head of the Politics, Press and Public Relations Section of the European Union Delegation in Harare.
The aim of this visit was to present to our high school and 3rd year students the European institutions and their functioning as well as the activities of the EU in Zimbabwe including the Erasmus Plus program. Taking place a few days after Europe Day on May 9 and less than a month before the European Parliament elections, the “timing” of the presentation was well calculated.
The study of the EU figures largely in the history/geography program of our 3ème and Terminale students as well as those of 1ère in the HGGSP specialty and who thus had the opportunity to exchange with a high-ranking diplomat from the institution. Ms. Chamorro also shared her personal experience and enthusiasm for this career choice. The future will tell us whether the day of March 15 will have sparked one or another vocation among our students.
