As part of Taste Week, the French School of Harare will celebrate the joy of food, sharing and community on Friday, 16 October 2026, with a special Bring and Share Lunch. The day will also mark La Grande Lessive, an opportunity for students to showcase their artistic talents and share their creativity with the school community.
A Bring and Share Lunch to Celebrate Togetherness
On the final day of Taste Week, the different classes will prepare a variety of dishes, giving students and staff the opportunity to discover and enjoy a wonderful selection of food. This special occasion will celebrate the diversity of flavours and the pleasure of coming together around a shared meal before the end of the first period.
Parents are warmly invited to join the celebration from 12:00 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. Families are encouraged to bring a dish or snack to share, helping to create a welcoming table filled with different tastes and homemade favourites.
To allow everyone to enjoy this special moment together, the period from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. will be freed for Middle and High School students. Students, families and staff will have the opportunity to share food, exchange experiences and strengthen the bonds that make our school community special.
La Grande Lessive: Celebrating Student Creativity
Friday will also be an opportunity to celebrate art and imagination through La Grande Lessive. Students will display their artistic creations, transforming the school into a space for creative expression and shared discovery.
Parents are warmly invited to come and view the students’ artwork, appreciate their efforts and celebrate the creativity and imagination demonstrated throughout this activity. It will be a wonderful opportunity for families to discover the artistic work produced by students and share in their pride and achievements.
Following the lunch, afternoon classes and activities will continue as scheduled.
A Memorable Close to the First Period
As the first period draws to a close, these two celebrations offer a meaningful way to bring our school community together through food, culture, art and creativity. The Bring and Share Lunch and La Grande Lessive reflect the values of generosity, collaboration and diversity that enrich school life.
