This week, the French International School of Harare is celebrating Carnival Week — a joyful time filled with creativity, colour, and tradition.
The week began yesterday with the much-anticipated Costume Day. From superheroes to storybook characters, the school grounds were transformed into a world of imagination. Spider-Man and Batman stood proudly among shimmering mermaids, confident cowboys and cowgirls, and even a playful Catwoman. The effort and creativity on display were simply wonderful to see. Even the teachers joined in the fun, with some delighting students by dressing up as members of ABBA.

Of course, Carnival would not be complete without crêpes. The delicious aroma filled the school as students enjoyed this cherished French tradition, sharing smiles and sweet treats with their friends.
Today, the celebration continues with Fancy Socks Day. Bright colours, bold patterns, and mismatched combinations have brought extra cheer to classrooms and corridors.
Tomorrow, students and staff will top off their outfits with creative and stylish hats for Hat Day — and the week will conclude on Friday with everyone coming to school in their cosiest pyjamas.
Carnival Week at the French International School of Harare is a beautiful reminder of the joy of community, creativity, and shared traditions — making each day something special to look forward to.
