On Thursday, September 25th, 2025, Groupe Scolaire Jean de La Fontaine – The French School of Harare had the great honour of welcoming two distinguished guests: Mr. Paul-Bertrand Barets, Ambassador of France to Zimbabwe, and Mr. Benjamin Durrenberger, Cultural and Cooperation Counsellor at the French Embassy.
Accompanied by Ms. Laetitia Cibrario, Head of School, the visit was marked by warm and meaningful exchanges between the French delegation and our vibrant school community.
Students and teachers engaged in insightful conversations with the Ambassador and Mr. Durrenberger, covering topics such as education, the promotion of the French language, and the school’s essential role in advancing French culture abroad as part of the global AEFE network.
This memorable occasion was a celebration of the deep ties between France and Zimbabwe, and a strong reminder of the importance of educational and cultural cooperation.
