For their final class of the calendar year, the Lycée (High School) students of the French School of Harare enjoyed an exciting and energetic outing to the Performance Hub in Harare. Accompanied by their PE teacher, Antoine Plasman—who also serves as a rugby coach at St. John’s—the students took part in an introduction to bouldering, a form of climbing practiced without ropes and focused on short but powerful routes.
The Lycée (High School) group quickly discovered that bouldering is much more than simply climbing. It requires strength, balance, technique, coordination, and mental focus. With each attempt, they learned how to tackle challenges step by step, test their limits, and enjoy the satisfaction of progress.

To round off the experience, our host offered a short introduction to Hyrox, a high-intensity sport combining strength, endurance, and functional movement. This gave students a taste of another challenging and motivating discipline.
It was a dynamic and memorable way for the Lycée (High School) students to wrap up their year—full of energy, discovery, and team spirit.
Congratulations to all for their enthusiasm and determination!
